Foundations of Health Freedom

This collection of mini-courses allows you to take one step at a time in your journey to greater health, through life changes that are entirely in your own hands. There are no miracle cures or superfoods or body hacks here! Simply opportunities to change your relationship with and your daily care of your body, mind, emotions and spirit in ways that lay the building blocks of optimal health and quality of life, with reduced (or even eliminated!) need for conventional medical care. As they say, self-care is primary care!

Each mini-course includes video lessons, a guided meditation and reflection exercises, worksheets and clear recommendations/guidance for specific changes to your self-care practices, along with a discussion forum where you can ask questions, connect with me (Dr Kate), and share experiences with others.

Water and Hydration

This mini-course will support you to up-level your health through proper hydration, with benefits such as increased energy, stronger digestion, improved elimination of toxic wastes, and a calmer mind and emotions.


Water is the base substance for all life, but our hydration and our relationship with water is not a one-size-fits-all approach. It’s easy to say, ‘just drink more water’, but many folks don’t find it easy to actually do that, for so many reasons!

Change your relationship with water for the better and understand how to achieve proper hydration according to your individual needs, which puts the power of improving your health through hydration in your hands.

Breathing and Present Mind

This mini-course will help you to up-level your health through use of proper breathing and mindfulness practices. These two approaches are uniquely suited to helping us to shift our body-mind into ‘rest and digest’ mode and out of ‘fight or flight’. In ‘rest and digest’ mode, you will experience improved sleep, stronger digestion and elimination, a more relaxed mind and emotions, better immunity, reduced muscle tension and reduced stress response.


When we're in ‘rest and digest’ mode, we're in healing mode—our body-mind can focus on the processes that are needed to heal, restore and maintain ourselves. By contrast, when we are in ‘fight or flight’ mode, our bodies are focused only on survival, and body processes that are necessary for good long-term health are reduced, so our health deteriorates over time.

Proper breathing and training the mind to present awareness are two of the easiest, no cost, things we can do to support our own internal healing power as we travel through life. These simple self-care practices show us that we hold that power in our own hands!

Sleep and Rest

This mini-course will help you to up-level your health by establishing different rhythms and habits for sleep and rest (or even learning what rest actually is!). If you have trouble remembering the last time you felt rested and refreshed, this course could hold some keys for you!

Deep, high quality sleep is essential to creating and maintaining health. Unfortunately, our culture has somehow convinced us that it's a lower priority than many other things that can ask for our time and attention. On top of that, in the past 100 years or so, our environments have become disruptive to proper sleep, This and so much more has left us sleep deprived, with huge detriment to our physical and mental well being.


And when was the last time you properly rested? Do you even know what that word means in your life at this stage? Hint: it means something more than distracting ourselves or checking out from our daily productivity.

This mini-course will support you in creating a rhythm and routine that includes adequate sleep and true rest, as well as helping you address some of the many factors that could be reducing your sleep quality. This puts the power of improving your health by giving your body the sleep and rest that it needs in your hands.

Movement, Flow and Balance

This mini-course will support you to up-level your health through concepts, reflections and practices that encourage movement and balance. Movement here refers to much more than exercise (though exercise will be touched on briefly). And balance refers to more than the work-life balance we often yearn for.

Through the lens of Chinese Medicine, the course addresses stagnation within you and your environment, and how intentional movement and awareness of the ways you are out of balance can help to lightening the load you're carrying, releasing what no longer serves you, freeing up energy and establishing balance within yourself so that your life can flow with more ease and joy.

This course contains a lot of food for thought and practices to play with to see where they take you, asking you to honestly assess where you're sitting and where you'd like to go. Enjoy self-reflection? You will benefit from this course.

If you tend to feel stuck, heavy, unmotivated or overwhelmed, and have areas of your life that seem to take all your energy and attention whilst other areas suffer, this mini-course will support you in shifting those experiences, sparking the power you have within you to create a flowing and balanced life.

Hydrotherapy at Home

This mini-course will help you to up-level your health using water therapies at home to support better sleep, a calmer mind, stronger digestion and elimination, reduced blood pressure, deeper breathing, more energy and a reduced stress response.

Water therapies in this course require no specialised equipment, can be done easily at home, and best of all, whilst they do include some cold water, there are no ice baths (yay!), and all are individually adjustable to your tolerance!


Naturopathic hydrotherapy is a time-honoured modality with its history found in Germany within deep healing traditions. These therapies have been carried forward by traditional naturopaths from the early 1900’s to the present, and the therapies often mirror those used in various traditions around the world for hundreds or even thousands of years.

In our modern world, we are in dire need of reviving traditions that help us to balance, support, calm and enliven ourselves to improve our health of body, mind, emotions and spirit. These simple self-care practices show us that we hold that power in our own hands!

Toxins and Detoxification

This mini-course will support you to up-level your health through reducing your exposure to environmental toxins, reducing your body’s waste products (which act like toxins in the system), supporting better function in your body’s detoxification systems, and improving the effectiveness of your body’s routes of elimination. Reducing the toxic load in your body in these ways will result in reduced inflammation and pain, feeling lighter and more energetic, as well as improving digestion and metabolism and overall function of all body systems.

Our bodies and minds are steeped every day in exposure to chemicals and other things that act as pollution within us. Whilst we have well-designed detoxification and elimination systems, the capacities of those systems can be overwhelmed by the variety and volume of what we are exposed to, leading to the build up of toxins within us, which get in the way of healthy
organ and tissue function and create illness.

This mini-course will help you to reduce the toxins coming into or produced within your body and optimise the toxins moving out to lower the total toxic load in your body, which puts the power of improving your health through detoxification and elimination in your
hands.
